About SecureCode
What is MasterCard® SecureCode™?
MasterCard SecureCode is a new service from MasterCard and Faysal Bank limited that provides added security when you shop online by providing added protection against unauthorized use of your enrolled (credit or debit) card.

How does MasterCard SecureCode work?

Once you've registered and created your own private SecureCode, every time you make an online purchase at a participating merchant, a screen will automatically ask you for your SecureCode, similar to the way your bank asks for your PIN at the ATM. When you correctly enter your SecureCode, your card issuer i.e. Faysal Bank confirms that you are the authorized cardholder and your purchase is completed.

Will MasterCard SecureCode work on my credit and debit card?

Yes, MasterCard SecureCode works on your Faysal Bank MasterCard credit and debit card.

How does MasterCard SecureCode protect me?

When you correctly enter your SecureCode during an online purchase at a participating merchant, you confirm that you are the authorized cardholder and your purchase is then completed. If the correct SecureCode is not entered, the purchase will not go through. So even if someone knew your card number, they would not be able to use your account at that merchant.

Is MasterCard SecureCode easy to use?

Yes. When you make an online purchase and enter your MasterCard payment information, a screen from your card issuer i.e. Faysal Bank will automatically appear and prompt you for your SecureCode. After reviewing the details of your purchase and confirming that your Personal Greeting (see "What is a Personal Greeting?" for more details) is correct, simply enter your SecureCode to complete your purchase.

Will I need to get a new (credit or debit) card to use MasterCard SecureCode?

No, there is no need to get a new (credit or debit) card. MasterCard SecureCode works with your existing Faysal Bank MasterCard (credit or debit) Card. However, MasterCard SecureCode service will not function on your ATM card and will only work on your Faysal Bank MasterCard Debit Card.

What are the system requirements for MasterCard SecureCode?

MasterCard SecureCode works with most browsers. You should be sure that Java Script is enabled; if it isn’t SecureCode may not work properly. If you have any difficulty, please contact Faysal Bank Customer Interaction Centre by calling the phone number on the back of your card.

Can I use MasterCard SecureCode from any computer?

Yes. There's no special software to install, so you can shop from any computer and still receive the added protection provided by MasterCard SecureCode.

What happens when my card expires or my billing information changes?

Your card issuer i.e. Faysal Bank will automatically update this information in your profile. The only time you need to update your SecureCode profile yourself is when your email address changes or when you want to change your SecureCode.

What happens if I cancel my existing card then get a new one with a different card number from same card issuer i.e. Faysal Bank?

You will need to register the new card for MasterCard SecureCode. Simply return to the registration site, and complete the registration process with your new card. It's quick and easy.

All of the information you provide is checked against the information that your card issuer i.e. Faysal Bank has on file to be sure the person registering is the actual cardholder. You are asked to enter the information again when you enroll a second card for your own protection. That way, the card issuer i.e. Faysal Bank can be sure the real cardholder is registering the card.

If I supply my e-mail during registration, how will it be used?

In accordance with your issuer's (Faysal Bank) privacy statement, your e-mail will be used for important service notifications. To check for more details on your issuer's (Faysal Bank) privacy statement, visit their website and review the policy posted there.

Can I register more than one card at a time so that they all have the same SecureCode?

Each MasterCard card must be separately registered for SecureCode so that it is individually protected. For each account registration, you will be asked to select a SecureCode that complies with your issuer’s requirements. We recommend that you select a SecureCode that will be easy for you to remember, but difficult for others to guess.

Is my SecureCode case sensitive?
Yes, it is.

The Personal Greeting is a message that you create during registration. Each time you make an online purchase at a participating merchant, a screen prompts you to enter your SecureCode. The Personal Greeting is your assurance that you are communicating with, and submitting your SecureCode to, your card issuer i.e. Faysal Bank. If the Personal Greeting displayed in the screen is incorrect, you should not enter your SecureCode, but should instead contact your Faysal Bank Customer Interaction Centre immediately by calling the phone number on the back of your enrolled MasterCard card, to report a possible fraud.

Your issuer i.e. Faysal Bank is making it easier for you to register for this added protection by offering you the opportunity to sign up while you’re already online.

My issuer sent me a notice saying my card has been pre-enrolled in MasterCard SecureCode. What does that mean?

This means that your card is eligible for MasterCard SecureCode, a new online security service, and that your issuer has already done most of your registration for you. To activate the service and protect against unauthorized use of your pre-enrolled card online, just follow the instructions on the screen that appears during your online purchase.
